How to apply an inclusive design project approach?

Analyse

Before you start with a project, you need to reflect on it. What is the goal, how are you going to achieve it, how can we describe this project. You have to make a plan for the upcoming period so you can properly communicate about the steps.

After you made an inclusive project definition and scoped the project you have to know the needs, wishes and limitations of your target audience. This can be done by conducting a thorough user research. Gather feedback early on to make better decisions later in the project.

Prioritise intuitive design

Create a user-friendly dashboard offering a customisable overview of the digital logbook. Implement inclusive data visualisation and navigation controls, empowering homeowners to efficiently manage and explore their building information.

Design accessible forms and input controls for entry and editing screens. Provide clear guidance for error handling and user feedback, minimising frustration and ensuring a seamless interaction for all homeowners.

Implement

It is important to keep an eye on your changes over time. Check if user are using your product/service in a user friendly way in different ways (interviews, surveys, focus groups,…).

Be able to help all of your users, provide support if they need it. Be mindful of your target audience and use simple communication with clear instructions.
